Gardens Without Borders 2011

February 4 and 5: World Community Film Festival, Courtenay BC

Gardens Without Borders is honoured to have a information table at the 20th World Community Film Festival.

This annual film festival presents highly-acclaimed documentaries on sustainability, social activism, and human rights issues.

March 5: Seedy Saturday at the Florence Filberg Centre, Courtenay BC

With the slushy stuff outside my window (West Coast snow), it gives me much pleasure to think about our local harbinger of spring: Seedy Saturday. Generating as much excitement as the return of the robin, this not-to-be-missed event will host a Gardens Without Borders information booth on the stage in the upper Filberg.

 June 1, 2010

Programs are to commence June 11.  The two bursaries for the 16 week summer programs have been taken, but weekly "Garden Club" activities are being planned for every Friday morning, starting at 9:30.  Each week will focus on a different theme and activity, and the fee will be nominal--just enough to cover the HT's time and some supplies.

Some ideas in the works for the weekly Garden Club: Plant a Leather Boot for Dad! (Father's Day), tea cup gardening, and projects to submit to the Fall Fair for team Gardens Without Borders!
